A Little Bit About The Canadian Language School

Well, my FBI application has been sent off.  It was a bit odd getting fingerprinted, but now that is done the waiting game starts.  The certificate should be sent directly to the school when it is completed.  It should arrive in about 10 weeks just around the time I’m arriving in Slovakia.

When I first applied for the position at The Canadian Language School I did a bit of research on their website. I've posted a link to the school in the right nav bar for more information.

The school in Trencin is one of three in Slovakia.  The other two schools are in Trnava and Zilina. There are three schools in Canada.  The school was started in Montreal in 2000 in collaboration with Concordia University and College Platon. The school received certification in Slovakia in 2001.

The language program used at the school is based on The Three Synergistic Competencies; 1) Interact orally in English (or French in Canada), 2) Reinvest understanding of oral and written tests and 3) to write texts. The school's program is unique in Europe which makes the school really stand out for it's teaching technique.

Some of the students attending the school are from the Slovak State government and major corporations such as; BMW, T-Mobile and Johns Manville Slovakia.  The programs are accredited by the Slovak Ministry of Education.

I'll be working with teachers from the US, UK, Canada and Australia.  Needless to say, I feel very fortunate for this valuable and exciting experience.

zbohom teraz (goodbye for now)
