Newburyport Fall Harvest Festival

Newburyport is located about 30 miles north of Boston on the north shore. A fishing village in the early 1600s when most of the cities along the shore where colonized, Newburyport is now, to use overused expression, a quaint little tourist village.

I had to drive from Salem. Even though the train does go to the village, it is about 3 miles from town. Thinking about it now, I should have taken the train and then walked to town because finding parking was a challenge.

Merrimack is the main drag in the city and filled with shops and today, kiosks selling wares such as jewelry, scarves, and other paraphernalia.

Just like in Salem, many shops are decorated for Halloween.

In the square area, I had some wonderful "chowda" in a bread bowl and listened to music.
The Band, 97 North

It was a lovely day and what better way to spend it...
