Kirk Hammett's It's Alive at the PEM

As a heavy metal fan, when I heard the Peabody Essex Museum PEM in Salem, one of my favorite museums, was showing an exhibition on Kirk Hammett's horror posters and art, I had to go see for myself.

It didn't disappoint. Hammett had a video about how his "riffs" are a product of his love of horror films and visual expositions.

Numerous posters and film clips from Dracula (Bela Lugosi) and Nosferatu, (one of the scariest films I've ever seen) are highlights as well as a video from Hammett demonstrating how it comes up with his music from the horror pieces.

If you love early horror films and/or Metallica music, this exhibit is not to be missed.
