Spice is Nice at Salem Arts Festival

Street Art on Essex Pedestrian Walk

Walking Around the Art Kiosks
Between Musical Acts
One of the best things about living in Salem is the ability to always find something to do. The weather this weekend is spectacular so attending the Salem Arts Festival was extremely enjoyable.

Walking through the different kiosks placed from Derby Square to the Old Town Hall and down Essex Street, there were musicians, artists, tourists and residents.

This year's theme is Spice. For more than a century Salem was the center of the spice trade. It works because some of the best eateries are in Salem (questionably as good as Boston) and of course, the art is filled with spicy colors.

Acoustic Trio Ponyfish
The Salem Art Festival added HulaArt to the mix of activities for adults and children.  To encourage young kids in creating art, many merchants sponsored the decoration of hula hoops in art classes since February.

I topped off the day with shrimp tacos at Rockafellas and now a class of white wine on my porch, yea...a good day!
