Not So Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer in Salem

Mahi Jazz Brunch Cruise

A beautiful, cloudless warm day I decided to "get my cruise on" by sailing around the Salem, Marblehead and Mystery Island Harbors on a Brunch Jazz Cruise by Mahi Tours. The two-hour cruise provided food and drinks, but don't ask for a Bloody Mary (basically a small amount of vodka and tomato juice and no olives). However, the cruise was wonderful and the music quite enjoyable.

This is my continuing weekend excursions to see and do all the tourist-type adventures of the North Shore.

Salem Annual Antique Car Show

Camero SS
After the jazz brunch I walked a short distance to historical Chestnut Street to see the 13th Annual Antique Car Show. The car show was just outside the Phillips House. I had the opportunity to tour the house recently and it is magnificent. It is part of Historic New England heritage organization, our nations oldest. The house was originally constructed by Captain Nathaniel West in the 1800s and over a century later, Anna Phillips purchased the home and took 14 months to renovate it in the Colonial style.  The furnishings span five generations.

The first car I saw was a Camero Super Sport. This car is the similar to the one I learned to drive, my mother's green Camero SS (not a convertible though).

The next car was a white Impala my dad drove when I was growing up...I thought I was walking down memory lane.
Just like my dad's car except not a convertible

I began to think I'm an antique! This can't be. I also saw a restored Mustang just like the one my university friend, Dee, used to drive.  I had to find something older!!!

Finally, what I would consider an antique, Stephen Phillips 1930 circa cars.

What will I do next week? Who knows but there is always something to do on the North Shore.
